The Lake Stevens Food Bank benefitted from the efforts of local Realtors.

Agents from Windermere Real Estate/ Lake Stevens Inc. held a Food Drive at the Lake Stevens Safeway and collected over 2,500 lbs. of food. 

Broker/Owner Meribeth Hutchings noted many heartwarming stories. One young mother gave a dollar noting that is all she could afford but wanted to give back since the Food Bank helped her family last year. 

Food Drive Chairman Catherine Martin said, “the generous people of Lake Stevens just blew us away, one family came by with a cart and picked up a bag of groceries, I thought it was for us, but they said no, the bag was for them the rest of the cart was for us.” 

Martin said she really thanks Safeway and the citizens of Lake Stevens for making the Food Drive such a success. 
The Food Drive continues through the end of the month and donations can be dropped off at Windermere at 9327 4th St. NE, Suite 3 until Sept. 30.
