The Lake Stevens Special Education Parent Teacher Group, sponsored by the Mt. Pilchuck PTA, is kicking off another year of great speakers on Thursday, December 6, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Mt. Pilchuck Elementary library.
At this first meeting, Executive Director of Special Services Miriam Tencate will give families an update on special education budgeting and funding for the 2012/13 school year.
With more than 1,000 students in the Lake Stevens School District receiving special education services, the parent group wants to ensure families are receiving the information and support they need.
Meetings are an opportunity to network with other families while hearing from a variety of dynamic and educational speakers.
Future meetings will be held on February 7, March 7, and May 2.
Childcare is available, and meetings are open to anyone interested. You do not need to be a PTA member to attend.
If you have questions about this group, would like to be notified in advance about speaker/topic information, or need to arrange for childcare, please contact Rebecca DeFrang at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 425-418-4532.
