Lake Stevens School Board with Superintendent Amy Beth Cook.
January is School Board Appreciation Month in Washington state, and it’s important for our community to know that the Lake Stevens Board of Directors is highly involved working on behalf of students and staff to support education locally and at the national level.
“Our community is fortunate to have five dedicated board members who work collaboratively in our community, state and at the federal level advocating for the best interests of our children,” said Dr. Amy Beth Cook, superintendent of Lake Stevens School District. “Public education is their passion and as individuals they dedicate time and resources for our students.”
The board recently reorganized into the following roles: John Boerger, president; Kevin Plemel, vice president; Paul Lund, legislative representative; David Iseminger and Mari Taylor.
The goal of the entire board is to represent its community and to provide the very best education for each and every student in Lake Stevens schools. At the state and federal level, its goal is to communicate with senators, representatives and stakeholders to directly represent and advocate for the district’s vision for public education.
