Sunnycrest students share their dreams in honor of Dr. King
In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, students from Sunnycrest Elementary School wrote their dreams on t-shirts that they wore at the school’s annual assembly.
Some focused on career aspirations like “Olympic gymnast” or “teacher” while others chose weightier topics like “world peace” and “everybody has a home.”
At the assembly, students recognized King’s work through song and the reciting of his famous speech under the direction of music teacher Richard English and P.E. specialist Katy Josee.
