City leaders answer questions from local third graders

The students at Hillcrest Elementary ask questions of our city leaders.
Students from Hillcrest Elementary School gathered at the library to ask questions of our local leaders including Mayor Vern Little, Fire Chief Dave Lingenfelter, Interim Police Chief Dan Lorentzen, Public Works Director Mick Monken, Planning Director Becky Ableman and City Clerk Norma Scott.
Some of the questions asked by the students were as follows:
• Can we get a movie theatre in L.S.
• Who is responsible for cleaning up our parks in Lake Stevens.
• How many robbers have you caught this year?
• How many drivers do you pull over each day in Lake Stevens.
• How many fires have we had in the city this year?
• Why do you need a pet license in Lake Stevens?
• What do you enjoy most about your job as Mayor of Lake Stevens?
City leaders enjoy the opportunity to get to know students within the Lake Stevens School District and to help them understand just how city government works.
