The Lake Stevens High School wrestling team headed to Central Kitsap High School on Saturday, Jan. 16 to attend the 33rd annual CK Matman Classic.
Fifteen other schools competed for the Mat Classic title with Lake Stevens taking third place after Orting, in first place and Graham Kapowsin in second.
Rogers and Enumclaw came in fourth and fifth.
The Vikings had two first place wrestlers. Andrew King at 140 pounds and Jacob Anderson at 160 pounds.
Only three short days later, the Vikes took on Stanwood beating them 54 to 15.
Lake had five pins at Stanwood.
Last Wednesday Lake wrestlers competed against Everett taking the lead with 43 points to Everett’s 18.
This match brought the Wesco North dual meet championship win to Lake Stevens bringing their total to 7-0 in league and 11-1 overall.
The Vikings will take on last place Oak Harbor tomorrow at Lake Stevens High School.
Varsity wrestles at 7 p.m. and Junior Varsity will start at 5:45 p.m.
