Viking wrestlers place third at Tri-State

Lake Stevens wrestling team placed third out of 59 teams at the 39th annual Tri-State wrestling Championships held at North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho last weekend.
Two Vikings won individual championships. Senior Ryan Rodorigo defeated Kelso’s Riley Miller 8-4 in the 119 pound championship final.
Senior Andrew King defeated Sammy Metz of Lewiston, Idaho 3-2 for the 152 pound Championship.
Other placers for Lake Stevens were sophomores Eric Soler, who took third at 112 pounds, Jesse Peterson taking fifth at 103 pounds and senior Branden Belcher who placed seventh at 171 pounds.
Mead won the Team championship with 162 points followed by University in second place with 159.5 points.
Lake Stevens, with their 152.5 points took third and Post Falls was in fourth with 150 points.
