The Vikings football team has been playing remarkably well this season. After capturing the Wesco North Championship at their Homecoming game and now smashing Stanwood with a score of 47-0, the Vikes are headed to Edmonds Stadium this Friday to take on the South Champions, Edmonds-Woodway in a fight for the Unified Wesco Championship title.
Parents and friends of this year’s football team are asking the community to show their support of this remarkable group of young men by “Painting the town purple” with Viking pride.

“We want to not only show the boys the support they so deserve, but also get the entire community involved to build and show Lake Pride,

football mom Yvonne Young said. “With support from Purple & Gold, the LSHS Athletic Dept., football staff, student body and local businesses, we will be out and about putting up Viking Flags and signs throughout the town to show our spirit.”
You can show your Viking spirit by wearing purple and gold on game days as well as putting up yard signs, painting windows or anything your creative mind comes up with.

This year the Vikings will have the opportunity to host their first District Playoff game at their new football stadium on Saturday, November 5.

If the Vikes win this game they will be on to the state finals.
“While this is in support of our football team, it is more importantly about the Lake Stevens community coming together to show our pride and support our local kids,” Young said.
