Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the health insurance reform bill that passed the Senate by a vote of 60-39 on December 24, 2009.
Kristiansen bill signed into law clearing way for retired firefighters to return to volunteer service
Retired firefighters who are collecting pensions will no longer be barred from volunteer firefighting duties under a bill sponsored by Rep. Dan Kristiansen, and signed into law this week by Gov. Chris Gregoire.
Scientific Report: WA Wolf Plan Doesn't Add Up
Scientists who have reviewed the draft of Washington's Wolf Conservation and Management Plan have a disagreement over the numbers. According to the scientists, the population recommendations in the draft plan aren't biologically defensible and will not ensure the reestablishment of a self-sustaining population of gray wolves in Washington.
