The police department responded to 654 incidents in the week of April 10, 2011 through April 16, 2011. The following is a brief summary of some of the more notable contacts:

Hope receives Distinguished Service Award

• Team Tom Thumb is holding a drawing for a brand new XBOX 360 console with Kinect and two games. $3 tickets may be purchased at Tom Thumb or during Relay. Drawing will be held at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 15, during Relay for Life.

Winning the ‘Art in the Alley’ award was a welcomed surprise to Anna Bostwick, local photographer and owner of Anna Bostwick Photography.

The Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce is excited to bring a first time event to the Lake Stevens community this fall—Oktoberfest. This festival will take place in downtown Lake Stevens on Friday and Saturday, October 14 and 15.

These days, if you’re looking for Sherri Williams, you can find her at Lake Stevens High School working on the school’s spring musical Grease on stage now through May 5, 6 and 7 at 7 p.m.   Participants of LSHS drama productions over recent years will tell you that Williams is a favorite “stage mom” and general miracle worker. 

The Horticulture and FFA students at Lake Stevens High School will be holding their annual spring plant sale from April 28 to May 21 on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Grace Egelstad, 10, competed in the Washington State All American Girl Pageant on April 15-17. She came in first runner up in the Young Miss division competing with girls ages 10-13.

On Saturday, April 16, the Lake Stevens High School boys and girls track teams headed to Pasco to compete with 1,400 athletes and over 100 teams at the largest one-day high school track meet in the country.

The following students from Lake Stevens have made the Winter 2011 Dean’s List at Eastern Washington University: Benjamin Jeffers and Stephanie Klocker.

The Seattle Junior Admirals hockey team returned from New York after competing in the national hockey tournament.

On Friday, April 29 you can join in the Zumba rage by working out with several instructors at North Lake Middle School.
