Ocean Changes Affecting $100 Million WA Shellfish Industry
Seattle, WA – It’s being called a seed crisis by those in the industry – the problem is that as much as 80% of oyster larvae in Washington State is are dying off. Experts say worldwide, 77 tons of carbon dioxide is released into the air each day, changing the chemical balance of local waters and threatening the 100 million dollar industry for the state.
