Avalanche crews are monitoring the slopes above Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass tonight after a natural snowslide covered part of the shoulder and the right eastbound lane near milepost 51, just after 3:30 p.m. this afternoon.

Today’s western Washington snowfall, as much as 14 inches in some spots in Pierce and Thurston counties, now gives way to a bigger concern on the roads: ice you can’t see.
