Change of watch held for Coast Guard Vice Commandant

Vice Adm. Sally Brice-O’Hara was relieved by Vice Adm. John P. Currier as vice commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard during a military change of watch ceremony held here Friday morning at Fort Lesley J. McNair.

County opens Deer Gate access on Mtn. Loop Hwy.

Snohomish County Public Works’ crews have reopened the Deer Creek gate on Mountain Loop Highway, providing access to the Big Four Ice Caves, Barlow Pass and other recreational opportunities.

Larsen on Planned Closure of Everett Area Mail Processing Facility: “Outrageous”

Rep. Rick Larsen, WA-02, issued the following statement today after the U.S. Postal Service announced that it is moving forward with its plan to close up to 140 distribution facilities, including the Everett Area Mail Processing Facility which serves residents in Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island and San Juan counties.
