Due to the continued strong demand after the sale of some 55,000 tickets for Cavalia: A Magical Encounter Between Human and Horse, Cavalia has once again announced an additional week of performances. Cavalia, playing since January 20 under the White Big Top at Marymoor Park, will now extend its run to February 26.
“We knew to expect an enthusiastic reception in Seattle based on our 2004 run here, but it has been really extraordinary to have brought so much joy to so many people,” commented Normand Latourelle, Cavalia's founder and artistic director. He added: "The show appeals to all ages and as much to art lovers as to horse lovers. Some of our spectators from eight years ago have come to see the significantly renewed show again two, three, even four times. Every time, our magnificent horses and artists succeed in seducing them.”
Latourelle is the visionary creator of Cavalia. Since co-founding Cirque du Soleil, he has become renowned for his large-scale innovative productions that take spectators to new realms.Cavalia, a celebration of the relationship that humans and horses share, is charged with poetry and pure emotion, combining acrobatics, dance, aerial artistry and live music with the stunning addition of magnificent horses. Hailed by critics everywhere it has been performed, the reception in Seattle has been no exception. The Seattle Times’s Misha Berson calledCavalia, “An amazing dream. It's as if both the horses and humans are saying, "Here is what our species are capable of, at the top of our games. Come along for the ride!"” KISW’s Steve Miglorie commented, “All I can say is WOW! Beyond amazing. Words cannot express how good this show is!” while KOMO News’s Rose Egge called Cavalia, “Equal parts elegant and playful…This is a show not to be missed!”
