The Everett Express girls U10 Fastpitch softball team, who last year won the USSSA State Softball Championship, followed that up this year by winning the National Softball Association (NSA) State Championship.
It was a topper to an extremely successful season where the Express went to the championship game in seven out of the eight tournaments that they entered.
They started their first day of play on June 27 where they proceeded to play four games in a 13 hour span. Their last game of the day lasted two and a half hours and went 10 innings in which they were able to come out on top 6-5 against the Washington Phoenix.
They showed up ready to play on Sunday beating the Seattle Havoc 11-1 and putting the Express into the championship game. The Express played the Washington Phoenix again in the championship game and defeated them 7-4 in a game that was never in doubt to become the NSA U10 State Champions.
The Everett Express is lead by coaches Brian and Katie Beaver, Dale Bechtholdt and Ken Larsen. Players include Payton Beaver, Ashley Perry, Meghan McGinnis, Jamie Lima, Lilly Larsen, Kelsey Bechtholdt, Gabby Calhoun, Emma Helm, Alivia Wynar, Taylor Arndt, Sydney Taggert and Jessica Bechtholdt.
