While Lake Stevens was hosting their annual Ironman 70.3 triathlon two weeks ago, Lake Stevens resident Kelsey Kreft was competing in the Seattle Danskin Triathlon.

 The Seattle Danskin Triathlon is a sprint distance event with an 800 yard swim, 12 mile bike ride, and 3.1 mile run.  This is a women’s only event and the 2010 edition had 3313 finishers. 

Eleven Lake Stevens residents participated as either a solo or relay competitor. 
Competing in her fifth triathlon, Kreft finished first in the 20-24 age group and third overall. 

Her total time of 1:13:37 was faster than all but one of the women competing with Elite status.
