The girls from the Cavelero Mid High Volleyball team show off their number one status.

On Sept. 26, Coach Lori Barlow led the Cavelero Colts’ ninth grade girls volleyball team to the championship of the Mariner High School Classic.

The Colts began the day in pool play in which they split two sets with Skyline High School before defeating Cascade High School and Kennedy High School each by a score of 2 sets to 0.

In the afternoon single-elimination championship bracket, Cavelero defeated Lynnwood High School 2-0.
In the semi-finals, the Colts played the host Mariner Marauders and were victorious 2-0. In the championship game, the Cavelero Colts faced off with Wesco rival Monroe, and won the title with a 2-0 victory.
For the day, the Colts finished with a record of 11-1.

The Colts are  Alexis Alverson, Courtney Ball, Kelly Davis, Shayna Follett, Cynnia Gailey, Karen Hall, Melissa Magruder, Caitlin Manske, Kendall Swanson, Stacey Van Dyke, and Brittany Willis.
