On Sept. 21, the Lake Stevens Varsity Volleyball team accomplished two goals. One being a 3-0 win against Shorewood and the other supporting breast cancer by “Digging for the Cure”.
Both teams supported the cause by wearing pink. Even the coaches, referees, and fans sported the color pink. All proceeds went to the Susan G. Komen organization including t-shirts sales and donations.
Members of Lake Stevens FCCLA have joined up with the high school volleyball team and are “Digging for the Cure” to help support breast cancer.
They are now opening it up to the entire community to bring in donations and pink Yoplait Yogurt lids.
All proceeds can be dropped off at the Lake Stevens High School main office.
The goal is to support cancer victims and their families and to raise awareness of this growing disease. Everyone’s help is needed to find the cure.
