Fourth grader Nicolas T. De Santiago just received a bronze medal at the 2010 Pacific Northwest Karate-Do Classic Tournament held on Saturday, Oct. 23 at Edmonds Heights (former Edmonds Homeschool Resource Center) in Edmonds.
This was Santiago’s second Karate competition and medal.
He competed in the 9-10 year old boys intermediate/advanced kata division with competitors mostly higher belt rank than him, but he still managed to achieve the bronze medal.
He is a student of Pacific Karate Organization in Everett.
De Santiago learns Shito-ryu Karate under the instruction of Sensei Michael Ferguson and he just achieved his purple belt rank in July this year.
