Three Everett Silver Blades synchronized skating teams participated in the Open Synchro Championship competition in Surrey, B.C. on January 15.

At this first competition of the season, their Elementary Level Team, the Speed Racers, which includes four girls from Lake Stevens, were proud to be awarded the first place gold medal for their performance level.

Synchronized skating is group skating consisting of eight to 20 skaters and is a discipline of figure skating.
Synchro teaches skaters to work together as a team while improving their individual skating skills.
