The U15 Blue Team consists of girls from North Snohomish County.
The Puget Sound Region Power League volleyball season began the weekend of January 7 and 8 with seeding tournaments played for a number of age groups.
Lake Volleyball Club of Lake Stevens had a number of teams participating on both days. The U13 Blue, U13 Red, U14 Blue, and U14 Red teams all competed on Saturday in a field of 83 teams. The U15 Blue, U16 Blue, and U16 Red teams played on Sunday.
The Lake VBC U15 Blue team began the day with a preliminary seeding of 11th place out of 52 teams. The U15 Blue team consists of a cross section of girls from several WESCO North schools. Team members include:
Taylor Campbell – Stanwood, Amber Dalgleish – Lake Stevens/Cavelero, Morgan Doyle – Glacier Peak, Mikela Fountain – Glacier Peak, Katelyn Gilman – Snohomish, Chloe Heindl – Glacier Peak, Kaylee Hopson – Monroe, Larisa Kreft – Lake Stevens/Cavelero, Hannah Nagy – Monroe, Amalia Ruiz – Monroe, Summer Thorp – Glacier Peak, Sydney Toler – Lake Stevens/Cavelero.
In spite of having many members who hadn’t played together previously, the girls melded as a team and competed strongly, placing first in their morning pool play bracket. The success continued in the afternoon.
The team didn’t lose a single game in the second round of play and once again finished first in their division pool. The only match loss of the day came in the final cross-over round. This match took three games to decide , with Lake being narrowly defeated in the third, 15-13.
