Eyman challenge of I-1033 financial impact statement, Voters Want More Choices v. Moore - TCSC No. 09-2-02122-5

FYI—For those following Initiative 1033, the “other” ballot measure in Washington this fall, Tim Eyman has filed a lawsuit challenging the fiscal impact statement ballot prepared by the governor’s budget office. Eyman is suing the Office of Financial Management to rewrite the impact statement and asking that the Secretary of State be directed not to print the Voters’ Pamphlet with the OFM’s original language. I’m attaching the state’s brief that summarizes the state’s response. The court hearing is at 9 a.m. Friday at the Thurston County Superior Court, no judge yet assigned. Marnie Hart, the solicitor general, is handling.
