Flag lowered for veteran LaBossiere
Members of American Legion Post 181 lower flags at the Lake Stevens
War Memorial in honor of John LaBossiere.
American Legion Post 181 held a flag lowering ceremony honoring John LaBossiere, 26, on Saturday, Nov. 14.
The Colors were being presented to LaBossiere’s parents, Phil and Marcia LaBossiere.
He served honorably for four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was in Iraq twice, including the initial invasion. He was currently a member of the Washington Army National Guard’s 81st Brigade which returned last August from a 12-month deployment to Iraq, where he also served honorably.
There was a memorial service held at his family’s church in Snohomish on Saturday, Nov. 7.
LaBossiere was given a full military funeral at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery on Monday, Nov. 9.
He leaves behind his father, mother, brother, wife, and three children (Phil, Marcia, Tim, Tarah, Aubryn, Ashley, Alexander). Parents and family live in the Lake Stevens area. John was a 2001 graduate of Lake Stevens High School and joined the Marines a few days after 9/11.
