Local boy holding sale to benefit family in need
The Reynolds family will benefit from the neighborhood garage sale being held this weekend.
Jacob Gloss, 12, of Lake Stevens is holding a neighborhood garage sale Sept. 11 and 12 to benefit the Reynolds family.
Roxanne Reynolds was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. ALS is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement.
The sale is being held in the Newport Bluffs neighborhood on the west side of Lundeen Parkway between Hwy. 9 and Hwy. 204 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All the proceeds from the garage sale will be donated to the Reynolds family to assist with Roxanne’s medical expenses as she deals with this diseases.
“I have known the Reynolds family for years, and like all of her neighbors, was very upset over this diagnosis,” Gloss said.
Gloss , who is going into seventh grade at North Lake Middle School, is orchestrating the garage sale as part of his Bar Mitzvah.
“ I am supposed to do something to help heal the world. I couldn’t think of anything more important than helping my friends and neighbors during this difficult time in their lives,” said Gloss.
The neighborhood sale will have a large selection of items to purchase but will also be accepting donations to help the Reynolds family.
