Comcast Community Ice Rink Joins in Fight to Feed Furry Four-legged Friends

November 4, 2010

Discounted Public Skating Rates Offered to Donors!

Global Spectrum, management for the Comcast Community Ice Rink, has begun to collect pet food donations in support of the Everett Animal Shelter. Recent information sent by the Everett Animal Shelter alerting community members that the supply of pet food was getting very low, prompted the staff to take action and contribute to the cause by hosting a pet food drive in the Comcast Community Ice Rink. Collections will continue in the Comcast Community Ice Rink lobby until November 19, and then turned in to the Everett Animal Shelter.

To reward and incentivize patrons to donate and help the cause, the Comcast Community Ice Rink will offer a $2 discount off admission and skate rental for those who donate a can or bag of food during the duration of the food drive. In addition, guests who bring in a grocery-sized bag or bigger of pet food will receive one free public skating admission pass. There is no limit to the amount or the number of times guests can donate.

Given the current desperate state of the Everett Animal Shelter’s remaining supply of pet food, the goal was set at collecting 100 pounds of pet food. The winter months are notoriously lean on donations, and the demand is expected to exceed supply. The community is encouraged to help feed as many furry four-legged friends as possible.
