LSHS adopts families with annual food drive

Lake Stevens High School is having it’s Adopt-A-Family Food Drive from Tuesday, Nov. 30 to Thursday, Dec. 16.

Last year, the Adopt-A-Family Food Drive raised nearly 30,000 food items for the Food Bank and the support of the community was nothing short of remarkable.

This year the goal of the students at LSHS is to raise over 30,000 food items, which will provide many people in need in the Lake Stevens community with an enjoyable Holiday Season.

If you would like to participate in the food drive there will be many opportunities. LSHS students will be standing outside local stores - Albertson’s, Safeway, Walgreens, Haggens, and Jay’s Market on certain dates and times to collect food donations.

In addition, the students at the High School will have two “Blitz Nights” where they will go to neighborhoods in Lake Stevens to collect items. The two “Blitz Nights” will on Monday, Dec. 6 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Monday, Dec. 13 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

If you would like to donate food directly to the Lake Stevens High School you may stop by during school hours (7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) to drop off any food items. All of the items donated will go directly to the Lake Stevens Food Bank and help people in need in Lake Stevens.

If you have any questions about the food drive or would like further information to donate you may contact Joe Cronin, Leadership Teacher at LSHS, at email: joe_cronin@lkstevens.wednet.edu or phone 425-335-1515 ext: 2234.
