Lake Stevens Rotary invites you to see what they have to offer

Ever wonder what Rotary International is all about? Come and see. Interested in learning more about a Rotary Club and in making a difference in the Lake Stevens community? Join the Lake Stevens Rotary Club for breakfast on Friday, Jan. 21 and learn more.

The Club meets at 7:15 a.m. at the Lake Stevens School District Center, 12309 22nd St. NE. The program will feature, Debe Franz, past president and GSE Team Leader who will discuss her recent GSE Trip to Ireland, which is a Group Study Exchange program.

The Lake Stevens Rotary Club was founded in 1991 and is dedicated to the Service Above Self motto. Each year scholarships are given to students at Lake Stevens High School, Granite Falls High School, Prove Alternative High School and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. Plus the club gives sponsorships and support to the Cub Scout Pack 88, Kid’s Oasis Park, North Cove Park, Lake Stevens Boys and Girls Club, the Lake Stevens Education Foundation, the Lake Stevens Senior Center and the Lake Stevens Family Center.

Other programs supported by the Lake Stevens Rotary Club are the Bikes for Tykes program, Downtown Safe Halloween, Adopt-a-Street, National Night Out, Community Supper and Food Bank, Picnic tables at North Cove Park, Born Learning Trail at Lundeen Park, Diaper Dash for literacy projects and Relay for Life.

At the international level, the Lake Stevens Rotary Club is involved in the Wheelchair Foundation, Shelter Box, the Guatemala Clinic and Education Center in Monterrico, Group Study Exchange, School Library in Turkey, Orphanage in India, Hydroponics Project in Mexico, Polio Eradication worldwide and school supplies in Afghanistan.
