L.S. wins 4A Northwest District Wrestling Championship
2011 4A Norwest District Champions
The Lake Stevens Viking Wrestlers won their 12th straight, 20 out of 21, 4A NW District Wrestling Championship this past weekend with a score of 360.5 points over second place Marysville-Pilchuck with 332 and third place Snohomish with 293.
The Vikings placed eight wrestlers in the championship finals winning six individual titles. Individual Champions were: 112 lb. sophomore Eric Soler who won his second district title. Ryan Rodrigo, the 119 lb. senior won his third district title while 140 lb. junior Steven Walkey won his second. Junior Kinsey Johnson, at 135 lbs ., 152 lb. senior Andrew King and 285 lb. senior Cody Schlosser each took the titles in their weight.

The district championships were the first step in the Wrestling post-season.
The top five individual finishers in each of the 14 weight divisions qualified for the 4A regional Wrestling championships next weekend Feb. 12 at Cavelero Mid High School in Lake Stevens. The Vikings advance 13 wrestlers to the regional championships. The top four placers at Regionals advance to the Mat Classic State Wrestling Championships to be held February 18-19 in Tacoma.
