Storm Aquatics holds food drive and pool party

February 7, 2011

On Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, Storm Aquatics, our local non-profit competitive swim team hosted a Community Food Drive and Pool Party to help replenish supplies after the holidays at both the Lake Stevens and Snohomish Food Banks.

Storm Aquatics members are from Lake Stevens and surrounding communities throughout Snohomish County; they wanted to extend their support to help cover those communities their swimmers herald from.

The outpouring of support from the swimmers as well as their many friends who attended the pool party was overwhelming.

Swimmers collected over 500 pounds of food plus cash which was divided between the two food banks.

Swimming provides young people with an array of healthful benefits and fosters wonderful friendships; they also want swimmers to have social awareness of needs within our communities. Storm Aquatics looks forward to future events to help foster this awareness. Please check their website at to see more photos of this community event and other team information.

All of this couldn’t have been accomplished without the support from three local Lake Stevens establishments; All Smiles Dentistry, Papas & Beer, and Summit Rehabilitation. We wholeheartedly thank them for hosting our Food Collection bins and to their customers who were also very generous.
