The police department responded to 698 incidents in the week of February 27, 2011 through March 5, 2011. The following is a brief summary of some of the more notable contacts:

VUCSA, 02/27/11, 100 blk South Davies Road

Officers made contact with the occupants of a vehicle that abruptly pulled into a driveway after officers got behind the vehicle. The 24-year-old male and the 20-year-old female were contacted by officers. During the contact an Arlington Police Department Narcotics K9 was called to the scene and alerted to the vehicle. An evidence impound was completed on the vehicle and the occupants were released. The case is under investigation.

Warrant Service/Possession of Burglary Tools, 02/28/11, 700 blk SR 9 Ne

Occupants of a vehicle were seen attempting to gain entry into a parked car and then fled the area. They were quickly located. A 27-year-old male and a 26-year-old female were stopped. The male had a warrant for his arrest. He admitted to trying to break into the parked car to steal change. He was found with a homemade shaker key. He was booked into Marysville Jail on his warrant and other charges will be referred. The female was released without incident.

Hit and Run Collision & Car Fire, 03/01/11, Cedar Rd/Lakeview Avenue

A 45-year-old female was driving her fiancée’s truck up Lakeview and collided with a utility pole. She kept going but the truck caught on fire. She fled the scene on foot. The case is under investigation.

Assault 4/Disorderly Conduct/Possession Dangerous Weapon, 03/01/11, 1300 blk 99th Avenue Se

A 19-year-old male and a 23-year-old male met on the road to continue their phone argument over a girlfriend. A 21-year-old male intervened and began to punch one of the males in the face repeatedly. While down, the 19-year-old began to hit the 23-year-old with a small dowel. While on the ground being beat up, the 23-year-old pulled a pocket knife from his pocket and swiped it in attempt to protect himself. The knife caused a laceration on the other male’s shin. It was discovered through investigation that two of the males had brought brass knuckles and the dowel to assault the other male with. One male went to hospital for treatment. All males were charged with disorderly conduct. In addition, two of the males were charged with assault 4 and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Vehicle Theft/Eluding, 03/05/11, 11400 Blk of 18th Street Ne

A 25-year-old male stole a vehicle from 16th Street. Officers located the vehicle in the 11500 block of 20th Street. The vehicle sped away and the occupant fled from the vehicle before the vehicle stopped. The male was located and detained by officers. The male admitted to being in the vehicle and said that he stole the vehicle because the vehicle’s owner owed him money. The male was found to be in possession of a stolen check that was associated in a burglary that was reported earlier. The suspect told officers that his partner in crime had pawned some stolen items at a pawn shop. The pawn shop was contacted and put a hold on the items. The pawn shop was also able to provide suspect information. The suspect information was passed on to the investigating agency of the burglary report and the male was booked into jail.
