Lake Stevens resident releases EP, runs recording studio

September 21, 2011

Joachim Nordensson is only twenty years old but that hasn’t stopped him from releasing an EP and running a recording studio.

Nordensson is a crossover guitar artist and balladeer with a style that fits in with the likes of John Mayer.

His eclectic music meshes upbeat and mellow rock with a serving of jazzy folk.

Since childhood Nordensson has studied the guitar and was taught Chet Atkins’ picking style by his father, Bengt, a musician who toured Sweden and Norway a generation ago.

Nordensson’s grandfather was a well-known Swedish banjo player, and his great grandfather was a respected violin composer in Sweden.

Together the family represents over a century of contemporary music.

Nordensson has been writing and performing music in the Pacific Northwest for the past three years.

He got his start as a performer by playing guitar with friends gathered around bonfires. This led to further requests to play, and soon he was on his way as a performer. When he’s not writing or performing his own music, Nordensson is busy recording the music of others at his respected Nordensson Recording Studios in Lake Stevens.
