Local Boy Scouts hold food drive for people and pets
Boy Scout Troop # 41 of Lake Stevens collects food outside of Jay’s Market.
Boy Scout Troop #41 of Lake Stevens collected 330 pounds of food and pet food during the “Scouting for Food” drive on Saturday, Sept. 10 in front of Jay’s Market.
The troop, chartered by the Kiwanis, donated all of the food to the Lake Stevens Food Bank.
Scouting for Food was started in 1988 and has resulted in the largest collection and donation of food ever experienced in the United States.
The troop would like to thank Jay’s Market for their assistance, the Kiwanis, and the giving citizens of Lake Stevens that made this such a successful event.
