L.S. students exhibit “Faces” at the Schack
Beginning Tuesday, October 11 the Schack Art Center will be featuring “Faces - Art inspired by Paul Klee” an exhibit of artwork by Sunnycrest Elementary students in the Lake Stevens School District. The exhibit, curated by Rebecca DeFrang, Art Docent - Sunnycrest Elementary, runs through October 20 in the Emerging Young Artist Gallery.
Students in Mr. Brandt’s fifth grade class at Sunnycrest Elementary, with assistance from DeFrang, brought geometric faces to life after being inspired by an art docent lesson about Swiss artist, Paul Klee.
Using faces as subjects, students worked with artist grade paper and pastel sticks to bring these masterpieces to life. Students also studied and utilized the art elements of line, shape and color in this lesson.
This exhibit is free to the public.
