FCCLA helps connect kids to their community
FCCLA members connect with students in Mrs. Nueman’s class at Highland Elementary.
Lake Stevens High School—Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America – FCCLA members—Alicia Amundson, Christian Gasca, and Navpreet Kaur, taught 4th grade students at Highland Elementary how to get connected with their community.
Included in their lesson were the six pillars of Character Counts—including trustworthiness, fairness, caring, respect, responsibility, and citizenship.
Students in Mrs. Neuman’s class now have a better understanding about positive character traits and community service projects.
They are planning on coming to the High School to help box food collected from the Viking Strong- Make It Happen Food Drive for local families in December.
