18 Harpists Bring Healing Harmony in a Free Concert
Everett – Looking for a soothing, ethereal experience to give your mind, body and soul a break from the stress of life? Then listen to the relaxing sounds of harp and voice as Sacred Harmonies perform their seventh-annual Strings of Light harp concert, on Saturday, March 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the Spirit of Grace United Methodist Church (formerly First United Methodist Church), 3530 Colby Ave., Everett. This free concert features the therapeutic harp and voice talent of 18 certified music-thanatologists from throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Begun in 2003, Sacred Harmonies is a part of Providence Regional Medical Center’s Spiritual Care Team. Harpists visit patients at the medical center to bring the therapeutic qualities of harp and voice to the bedside. Harp music soothes anxiety, provides relaxation, helps patients sleep and brings special comfort to patients and their families in the final stages of dying.
This year’s concert features guest musician ensembles from the Pacific Northwest and original solos. The Sacred Harmonies at Providence CDs “Love’s Call” and “Beauty Awaits” will be available for purchase at the concert to help support Sacred Harmonies. Through donations given at the concert and the purchase of these CDs, Sacred Harmonies is able to offer CDs to patients at Providence Regional at no cost.
