Host families needed for students from Spain

Alisa Arcos, the Spanish teacher at LSHS is looking for approximately 10 host families for students visiting from Spain.

The students will be taking ESL courses and learning about our community, state and country.

Knowledge of Spanish is not required to be a host family—in fact, they prefer that the students speak as little Spanish as possible while they’re here. Families are needed from June 27 through July 25.

If a community member has ever thought about hosting an exchange student, this is a great way to find out what the experience might be like without the year-long commitment. This is also a terrific way for students to earn community service hours over the summer—they can complete all 15 hours by being a host “brother/sister”.

While here, the Spanish students will also be participating in community service projects—including volunteering at the Ironman Triathlon in July.

If you are interested please contact Alisa Arcos at alisaarcos@msn.com.
