April 29, 2013 will mark the first Annual Relay For Life in Granite Falls. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life® of Granite Falls will give everyone in the community a chance to help the organization save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
Please join ARC for a special Relay For Life information night on May 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Eagles Hall, 402 N. Granite Ave.
You can learn more about Relay For Life by visiting relayforlife.org or stay up to-date on local event progress by joining us on facebook at facebook.com/relayforlifeofgranitefalls. Our official website will be launched soon.
Former and current cancer patients, those who have lost a loved one to cancer, families, businesses, faith-based and civic organizations, and anyone wanting to make a difference in the fight against cancer are invited to take part in this exciting team event.
Relay For Life events are held overnight as individuals and teams camp out at an athletic track, park or other gathering area, with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track or pathway at all times throughout the evening. Teams do most of their fundraising prior to the event, but some teams also hold creative fundraisers at their campsites during Relay.
A passion for helping others and an interest in creating a fun family event for the community are the only requirements for joining the committee. No event planning or Relay For Life experience necessary. Information about available committee positions for this event is available on Facebook at facebook.com/relayforlifeofgranitefalls or by calling 425-322-1120.
