Grants available for artists through Greater Marysville Artists' Guild

The Greater Marysville Artists’ Guild (GMAG), a certified 501c3 nonprofit organization, is taking applications for grants-in-aid and scholarships in the visual arts.

Awards are available to both graduating High School seniors and adult artists. All applicants are asked to submit at least five photographs or prints of representative work, each labeled to identify the medium used and year completed. Please do not submit slides or electronic media.

High School seniors accepted into an accredited or recognized art program are eligible to compete for scholarships in varying amounts. Students must submit a letter describing their art training and experience and their proposed goals, and stating their grade point average; a letter of acceptance from the school they will attend; and a letter of recommendation from a teacher.

Adult artists may compete for grants-in-aid to pursue their professional development. Applicants must submit a letter describing their background and direction in the visual arts; the class, workshop, or seminar they wish to take, including date, cost, and location; and goals they want to accomplish.

Scholarships/grants must be used within one year of the award unless exceptions are arranged in advance. Deadline for receipt of submissions is May 10, 2012.
