Strike Against Homelessness Bowl-a-Thon Raises Money for Housing Hope

June 18, 2012

Everett, WA – June 14, 2012 – Marysville Windermere Real Estate/JS and Marysville Sunrise Rotary hosted the Strike Against Homelessness Bowl-a-Thon on June 2 at Strawberry Lanes in Marysville. The event raised over $20,000 for Housing Hope’s Beachwood property, located in Marysville.

All 20 lanes in the bowling alley were full with teams of as many as five bowlers trying to raise money for Housing Hope, an organization striving to provide safe, affordable housing and services for homeless and low-income families of Snohomish County.

The fundraising goal was a minimum of $10,000 in an effort to take full advantage of the $10,000 match offered by Marysville Sunrise Rotary. Between money raised by teams, a raffle sale and sponsors, this goal was met and over $20,000 was raised.

“Marysville Sunrise Rotary has partnered with Housing Hope since 1996 to help support homeless families receive a “hand-up,” said Dennis Niva, President-Elect of Marysville Sunrise Rotary. “The Bowl-a-Thon partnership allowed us to join hands for our community.”

This is the 13th Bowl-a-Thon Windermere has organized for Housing Hope. Support was also received from SeaCast Inc as a Strike Sponsor, Figure it Out as a Lane Sponsor, and prizes for bowlers were donated from businesses including Angel of the Winds Casino, Best Buy, Bob’s Burgers & Brew, Boondockers Restaurant, ColdStone Creamery, CraftMart, Domino’s Pizza, Golden Corral, Las Margarita’s, Starbucks, Subway, Sunnyside Nursery, and Marysville YMCA.
