The Pahukoa sisters.

Led by local Lake Stevens standouts Brittney and Brooke Pahukoa, the Northwest Blazers Orange Basketball team, consisting of players from around the Northwest, recently competed in the End of Trail Music City Madness basketball tournament in Nashville, Tennessee.

The EOT tourney produces some of the most competitive and prestigious girls basketball tournaments in the country. The events are certified by the NCAA as recruiting tournaments for High School players.

Literally hundreds of Division I, II and III NCAA coaches attend these events.

The Nashville tournament hosted 256 teams from across the country. The Blazers 28-2, coached by Steve Klees, assisted by Kayla Soliday, Bryce McPhee, and Fred Redmon captured first place by defeating national power Cal Swish Black of Southern California by a score of 66-59.

To earn the chance of playing in the championship game, the Blazers also defeated Tri State Express 52-35, Tennessee Threat 73-44, Illinois Defenders 70-57, STL Flight 60-45, YEA 77-37, and New Mexico Heat 67-36.
