Woman rescued just outside of G.F.
On Saturday, August 18, at approximately 7:45 a.m. Search and Rescue response teams received a “spot beacon’’ alert from an area off the Mountain Loop Highway east of Granite Falls.
The alert was confirmed and responders learned there was a 50-year-old Everett woman at Island Lake suffering a diabetic emergency.
Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue ground teams, SNOHAWK 10 and local fire units responded to the area.
With the coordinates provided by the spot beacon SNOHAWK 10 was able to locate the victim quickly on a small island in Island Lake.
The victim was hoisted aboard the helicopter and transported to the Verlot ranger station where she received additional treatment and transport to a local hospital by medics.
The last report indicated the victim is expected to make a full recovery.
