Sno-Isle Libraries celebrates 50 years of service to Granite Falls

October 1, 2012

On September 5, 2012, the City Council of Granite Falls adopted a resolution recognizing and honoring the many contributions made by Sno-Isle Libraries for the past 50 years.

This resolution supports Sno-Isle Libraries’ 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Here in Granite Falls, community members are invited to join in the celebration in several ways.

Community members may submit suggestions for small items to include in a time capsule to be opened in 2022. Simply send an email to janderson@sno-isle.org.

People may also write a brief statement about what the library means to them on forms provided by the library. The Friends of the Library will have a journal for people to record their thoughts.

These items and remembrances will be displayed at the library. After the Railroad Days Parade, these items will be sealed into the time capsule during a ceremony at 2 p.m. on October 6.

Special guests will include Kendra Trachta, the Assistant Director of Sno-Isle Libraries, Mayor Haroon Saleem, former library manager, Lynette Howard, and Jude Anderson, the Managing Librarian.

Please, give your suggestions for items to include in the time capsule to Jude Anderson at janderson@sno-isle.org.

Visit the library to view items to be included.

Mark your calendars and join in the celebration on October 6 at 2 p.m. The Friends of the Library will provide refreshments.
