Family Safe Downtown Halloween planned for L.S.

October 16, 2012

Local kids put on costumes and trick-or-treat at a past Downtown Halloween Event.

The Lake Stevens Family Center will sponsor “Family Safe Downtown Halloween” on October 31. This FREE event will begin with a costume parade leaving from the Boys and Girls Club and marching down Main Street at 5 p.m.

After the parade until 8:30 p.m ., children and families can enjoy trick-or-treating at downtown businesses, Trunk or Treat with classic cars, having a free picture taken at Jay’s Market, playing carnival games at the Community Center or enter a digital costume contest by Tiger’s Black Belt.

If you’re one of the brave few, you can visit the “Spook House” behind the library.

To help prepare for the event, the Family Center seeks small prizes and candy for the carnival. Volunteers are also well needed for all aspects of the event.

This event is brought to you by the Lake Stevens Family Center, who provides community resources and support to our local families.

This is just one of the ways we can help keep crime rate down by providing events for the youth, by keeping small kids off dark roads and to know their eating safe candy without knocking at stranger’s doors.

Help us build a strong, positive community and join us at the Family Safe Downtown Halloween! Family Center 425-397-7433.
