Lake Stevens Library and Sno-Isle celebrating 50 year anniversary

The Lake Stevens Library will be holding an Open House at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 10 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Sno-Isle Libraries.

It was in December of 1962 that Island and Snohomish County Councilmembers met and formed a two-county rural library district, and Sno-Isle Libraries was born.

The Lake Stevens Library will be marking the occasion with an event that includes entertainment, refreshments, a time capsule ceremony and a display on the history of library service in Lake Stevens.

The entire community is invited to attend this celebration of the history of library service, and its vital role in the Lake Stevens community.

While technology has evolved and communities have grown and their needs have changed, Sno-Isle Libraries have remained a vital community resource as a doorway to reading, resources and lifelong learning, as well as a center for people, ideas and culture.

Please join in the celebration this Saturday at the Lake Stevens Library in downtown Lake Stevens.
