High School kids lose their hair for a cause
Lake Stevens High School (LSHS) seniors, Jackie Caudle, Javon Brown, and Taryn Rasmussen organized a school wide fundraiser for the American Cancer Society for their FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) chapter service project called “Change for a Cure”.
One of the activities they sponsored was “Save It or Shave It”. Eight LSHS students volunteered to get their hair shaved off if after two weeks of collecting coins more money was in the shave it box.
Local hairstylists and barbers assisted in the shaving and cutting of hair. The students have raised over $500 and are continuing to raise money through a “Change for the Cure” t-shirt sale at school and at basketball games.
