Attempted Kidnapping Investigation in Everett

Everett, WA: The Everett Police Department is investigating an attempted kidnapping of a 15 year-old girl and is looking for any information the public might have.

On October 29, 2012, just after 7:00 p.m., a 15 year-old girl and a 16 year-old girl were walking home from the east side of Silver Lake by Emory’s On Silver Lake (11830 19th Ave SE) when they became separated. As the 15 year-old walked southbound on 19th Ave SE, a male walking northbound passed her. The girl kept walking but had an urge to look back. As she turned, she saw the male reaching to grab her arm. The girl jumped back and was scared. She ran across the road with the male attempting to follow but he was unable due to traffic. The girl said she looked at the male who was staring at her before she ran southbound. The male was last seen running southbound, but kept going when the girl turned onto a side road towards home.

The girl was not injured and called her parents while running home. The family called 911 and officers searched the area with a K-9, but did not locate the male.

The male is described as white, 40-50 years of age, 5’6”, husky build with short white hair and a beard. He was wearing a blue baseball hat, a dark blue t-shirt and light blue jeans.

We would like anyone who might have information about this incident, or anything similar, to please call 911, the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
