Double fatality collision

February 4, 2013

This morning at 5:25 am Snohomish County deputies responded to the 23200 block of Sophie Road for a report of a car that had driven through a fence. When deputies arrived they found a one car collision where the vehicle went through a fence. The two male occupants were deceased. Neighbors advised investigators that noise was heard but nothing seen about 1:30 am. A delivery driver spotted the car and called 911 at 5:25. The initial cause appears to be impalement and blunt force trauma. There are no immediate signs of impairment; speed is the leading factor at this time. Both subjects were seat belted at the time of the collision. The occupants are two males one from Sultan and the other from Monroe. The next of kin has been notified and the deceased are with the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

There are no further details available at this time. The case remains under investigation by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit.
