Lake Stevens High School community wears ties for beloved teacher Talley

March 26, 2013

On Friday, March 22, Lake Stevens High School students and staff wore neck ties in honor of longtime history teacher Jim Talley who passed away in 2012.

The morning kicked off with ASB and Leadership students serving hot chocolate and jellybeans while the High School band played.

During lunches, students shared the attributes and characteristics that made Talley such a wonderful friend and teacher.

Talley was known for his tie collection.

During his tenure at LSHS, Talley’s students had one of the highest passing rates for AP classes across the nation.

“Today was a great example of the values we have at LSHS,” said Eric Cahan, LSHS principal. “The ties are a tribute to Jim, but also highlight the respect the students have for the teaching staff, and the love and dedication the teachers have for students.”
