City Spring clean-up just around the corner

On Saturday, May 4, 2013, the City of Lake Stevens will be hosting its annual Spring Cleaning Day Event.

This year’s event will again be held at the back parking lot at Cavelero Mid High School located at 8220 24th St. SE, Lake Stevens.

Citizens that reside in the city limits of Lake Stevens may bring most of their items that are typically taken to the dump and dispose of them for free from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

City residents must provide ID with their name and address.

Shred It paper shredding service will be present and accepting personal papers for free shredding.

Les Schwab Tire Center will be accepting old tires at no charge. The limit is 10 tires per household and all tires must be standard vehicle size and off the rims. Les Schwab will not be accepting tires on any other day or at any of their stores.

Hazardous Waste (paints, chemicals, things with Freon, etc.) WILL NOT be accepted at this year’s event. TV’s, computers, laptops, and monitors will be accepted at no charge. Shred It, tires, e-waste, and metal recyclables should be separated from other items and close together for quick and easy unloading.

Dry food items for the Lake Stevens Food Bank will be collected at the event.
