L.S. resident Downey named Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen
Lake Stevens’ own Haley Downey has been named this year’s Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen for 2013 and was officially crowned at the competition held in Burien on May 24-26.
Downey was one of 25 contestants from around the state. She received a $200 cash award for her talent, Downey impressed audiences with her harp playing. She was also named one of the Teens in Action winners, taking a $100 cash prize.
She also received a $2,500 scholarship and a prize package worth over $7,000 after being crowned this year’s Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen.
First runner-up, Tamara Sevao, was also from Lake Stevens and received a $1,000 scholarship.
Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen is an official preliminary of the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Program, and little sister to the Miss Washington and the Miss America Organization. For more information please visit http://www.mwoteen.org.
